ROAD WARRIORS HEADING INTO A CYCLONE

CINCINNATI, OH  – Tonight the Greenville Road Warriors play the third game of their seven-game road trip at US Bank Arena against the Cincinnati Cyclones.

The Road Warriors (8-7-0) visit Cincinnati (5-7-2) tonight for the first of five scheduled meetings between the clubs. Fans can follow the action by watching live on  America One or listening at  www.greenvilleroadwarriors.com. Tonight is Greenville’s second visit in its history to US Bank Arena and the Road Warriors are looking to earn their first win in the building. In the one prior meeting between the clubs in Cincinnati, the Cyclones came away with a 4-3 overtime win on February 25, 2011. Overall last season Greenville went 2-1-1 against Cincinnati. Tonight the Road Warriors will try to jog their offense which has been held to one goal in its last two games.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • The Road Warriors are 13-3-0 in their history against North Division opponents. They have the most wins against Kalamazoo and Toledo (3) among current North Division teams.
  • Goalie Nic Riopel is third in the league with eight wins this season. He is 18-3-1 in his last 22 regular season starts dating back to February 2011.
  • The Road Warriors are 1-2-0 on their seven-game road trip and are averaging two goals per game on the trip after Sunday’s 4-1 loss to South Carolina.
  • Greenville has the top power play in the league at 25.4% despite having the fewest power play chances in the league with 63. Their 16 power play goals rank 11th.
  • Greenville enters tonight with a two-game road losing streak. The longest in team history is four which happened twice (12/31/10-11/22/11 & 2/12/11-2/25/11) last season.
