– THREE’S COMPANY – The Rangers have registered three or more goals in 31 of 59 games this season.
– POWER RANGERS – The Rangers were 1-for-2 (3:06) on the power play in today’s contest. The Blueshirts have recorded at least one power play goal in eight of the last 13 games (11-for-40; 27.5%), in nine of the last 15 games (12-for-44; 27.3%), in 10 of the last 17 contests (13-for-48; 27.1%), and in 13 of the last 21 contests (15-for-60; 25.0%). – Mika Zibanejad recorded a power play goal, led all skaters with 14 faceoff wins (14-for-19; 73.7%), and tied for the game-high with five shots on goal in 18:25 of ice time. Zibanejad registered his team-leading ninth power play goal of the season in today’s contest, adding to his career-high. He is the first Ranger who has registered at least nine power play goals in one season since Marian Gaborik and Ryan Callahan in 2011-12. Zibanejad has also established a new career-high with 15 power play points this season, and he is tied for the team lead in power play points in 2017-18. In addition, he is tied for second on the Rangers in goals this season (17). Zibanejad has recorded a goal in each of his three career regular season games against the Senators. He has tallied 95 goals in his NHL career.
– Mats Zuccarello tallied a power play assist, registered two shots on goal, and posted a plus-one rating. He recorded his 14th power play assist of the 2017-18 season in today’s contest, establishing a new career-high. Zuccarello leads the Rangers in assists (32), points (41), primary assists (21), and power play assists this season. He has registered nine points (one goal, eight assists) in the last 13 contests.
– J.T. Miller notched a power play assist and won six of 11 faceoffs (54.5%). He leads the Rangers in points on the road this season (21). Miller’s assist on Mika Zibanejad’s goal was his 99th career NHL assist. He has recorded nine points (two goals, seven assists) in the last 10 games.
– Pavel Buchnevich recorded an assist in today’s game. Buchnevich played his first game since Feb. 1 today. He has established career-highs in goals (13), assists (20), and points (33) this season. Buchnevich has notched seven points (two goals, five assists) in his last eight games.
– Kevin Hayes recorded an assist, won five of nine faceoffs (55.6%), was credited with two hits, and posted a plus-one rating. He has tallied an assist/point in four of the last five games, and he has registered six points (two goals, four assists) over the span. Hayes has registered 95 assists in his NHL career, and 65 of the 95 assists have been primary assists.
– Ryan Sproul tallied his first assist/point as a Ranger and recorded three shots on goal in 15:00 of ice time.
– Brandon Halverson made his NHL debut in today’s contest. Halverson is the third goaltender 21 years old or younger who has appeared in a game with the Rangers since the start of the 2005-06 season (along with Mackenzie Skapski and Chris Holt). Halverson is the 84th goaltender who has appeared in a regular season game with the Rangers in franchise history.
