SUGDEN IN, FORD OUT

Brandon Sugden, who had been on a PTO with the Wolf Pack has signed a contract to stay with the team the rest of the season. Sugden does add a physical presence to the team as an enforcer. he doesn't do much else, but at least someone is around to protect the skill guys and insure that no other cheap shots are being taken at the other youngsters.

Conversely, Matthew Ford, who we thought was showing some progress and had potential, has been released from his PTO and will be sent to Charlotte. Derek Wilkinson will most certainly be happy to have Ford's scoring touch back in the fold…

Hartford Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the Wolf Pack has signed Brandon Sugden to an American Hockey League contract.  The 10^th-year veteran winger had been playing with the Wolf Pack on a Professional Tryout (PTO) agreement. Since signing with the Pack October 10^th, the 6-4, 233-pound Sugden has skated in 16 games, contributing one assist and amassing 51 penalty minutes. Sugden, 30, has 191 games of AHL experience with Worcester, Syracuse and the Wolf Pack.  His AHL career stats show six goals, 10 assists, 16 points and 861 penalty minutes. The Wolf Pack are back in action at the XL Center tomorrow night, Wednesday, December 10^th, taking on the Providence Bruins in a 7:00 game.  The Pack are also in home action this Friday night, December 12^th, vs. Worcester on Guida’s Family Value Night (7:00) and Saturday night, December 13^th, against Springfield for Miika Wiikman Bobblehead Night.  Through January 2^nd, adult tickets for Wolf Pack home games can be purchased for as low as $10 each.

Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the team has released forward Matthew Ford
from his Professional Tryout (PTO) agreement.  Ford will return to the
Wolf Pack’s ECHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers.

Ford, a rookie out of the University of Wisconsin,
has appeared in 12 games since joining the Wolf Pack November 6^th,
and has registered one goal and six penalty minutes.
