CHECKERS, TELEBRANDS REUNITE FOR SECOND ANNUAL
“AS SEEN ON TV NIGHT”
‘Inventors Day’, $20,000 in product giveaways highlight Dec. 10 event
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Checkers have again partnered with TeleBrands, the award-winning global direct-response marketing company, for the second annual “As Seen on TV Night” on Friday, Dec. 10.
The event will feature a giveaway of $20,000 worth of TeleBrands “As Seen on TV” products to the first 2,000 fans through the door that night. This time, however, fans will be able to vote on the products they will receive via an online fan poll.
New for this year will be an “Inventors Day”, in which approximately 30 inventors from all over North America will migrate to Charlotte to pitch their idea to TeleBrands CEO/founder AJ Khubani and a panel of judges. The top three inventors will showcase their ideas to Checkers fans on the video board and the highest vote-getter at the game will win a meeting with Khubani to discuss his or her invention.
The TeleBrands/Charlotte Checkers “Inventors Day” will be held at Time Warner Cable Arena from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Only pre-selected inventors will be admitted for the pitch, which will resemble American Idol and The Apprentice.
“I’m thrilled that TeleBrands has once again partnered with the Charlotte Checkers for our ‘As Seen on TV Night’,” said Khubani. “We’re equally thrilled to bring our TeleBrands Inventors Day to Charlotte to have an opportunity to hear the unique product pitches from at-home inventors coming to Time Warner Cable Arena.”
For nearly 28 years, TeleBrands has enjoyed worldwide success in the infomercial products category and markets some of the country’s top direct response television products, including the PedEgg and Windshield Wonder. TeleBrands products are often discovered and brought to the marketplace by virtue of the hundreds of meetings the company conducts with inventors each year.
“We’re excited to partner with TeleBrands for ‘As Seen on TV Night’ once again,” remarked Checkers COO Tera Black. “The product giveaways make for great stocking stuffers just in time for the holidays and we hope that ‘Inventors Day’ will help produce the next million-dollar idea.”
TeleBrands is still accepting applications for Inventors Day. Interested candidates should email InventorsDay@TeleBrands.com and put “Charlotte application” as the subject line.
