VOROS RELEASED, MCNAUGHT TO GREENVILLE

Connecticut WhaleThe Connecticut Whale have released former New York Ranger’s forward Aaron Voros from his PTO with the team. The team also announced that recent signee Randy McNaught has been loaned to Greenville.

Voros, while a terrific guy personally was essentially going through the motions if his play on the ice was any indicator.

He had one fight on the ice in his 23 PIMs and scored four goals and had three helpers in 23 games played with the team.

McNaught, who signed an AHL contract with the Whale on January 23, dressed for one game with the Whale in the 2-1 loss at the XL Center on Saturday to Springfield.

The good thing about the Voros move is that will open up more playing time for some of the younger guys who have been scratched while this “favor” was done by Glen Sather for Voros, who had called and asked for the chance.

The bad about this move is how it will affect the already highly agitated agitator, Sean Avery, who’s exceptionally close with Voros who along with Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist are business partners in a restaurant in NYC called “Tiny’s & the Bar Upstairs.”

Now the question mark is what the Rangers decide to do with forwards Eric Christensen, Wojtek Wolski and with Steve Eminger getting close to returning to the lineup, defenseman Jeff Woywitka.

Here’s the official release:
