RANGERS RECALL BOO NIEVES FROM HARTFORD

NEW YORK, October 24, 2017 – New York Rangers General Manager Jeff Gorton announced today that the team has recalled forward Boo Nieves from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Nieves, 23, has skated in seven games with the Wolf Pack this season, registering two goals and one assist for three points, along with two penalty minutes. He tallied two points (one goal, one assist), including the game-winning goal, on Oct. 13 vs. Toronto and he registered a goal on Oct. 14 at Springfield.

The 6-3, 212-pounder has skated in 55 career AHL games over parts of three seasons (2015-16 – 2017-18), all with the Wolf Pack, registering 10 goals and 16 assists for 26 points, along with 12 penalty minutes. Nieves recorded 18 points (six goals, 12 assists) in 40 games during his rookie season with Hartford in 2016-17, and he led Wolf Pack rookies (min. 10 games played) in points per game (0.45). He also notched a point in each of his first four AHL games.

Nieves has skated in one NHL game in his career. He made his NHL debut as a member of the Rangers on Nov. 15, 2016, at Vancouver.

The Syracuse, New York, native was originally selected by the Rangers in the second round, 59th overall, of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
