HARTFORD, CT – If the Hartford Wolf Pack and their fans were hoping MSG was going to leave them an extension contract to continue to play at the XL Center next season under a Christmas tree, well, it’s looking like gift might be arriving later than hoped for.
Last year, the contract extension came at the end of November.
Due to both the holidays and the myriad of uncertainties surrounding the XL Center and its long-term future, it is affecting the short-term future.
“We have ongoing conversations even today. Hopefully in the next week or so. Technically, (there is) no deadline as our initial deal has run its term (five years), but we would like to wrap it up in the next few days or a week,” CRDA Executive Director, Mike Freimuth stated. “If it slips into early January, it’s only because everyone is flying about for the holidays. I expect it will get done. It’s not soup yet.”
Freimuth did not cite any contract specifics because of the ongoing talks.
