NEW YORK, NY – New York Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury announced today that the team has agreed to terms with forward Bryce McConnell-Barker on a three-year, entry-level contract beginning with the 2023-24 season.
McConnell-Barker, 18, captains the Soo Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he leads the team with 74 points and 45 assists while ranking second in goals (29) through 66 games. He was also named OHL Player of the Week ending January 8 after recording eight points (4G-4A) in three games.
In two seasons with the Greyhounds, the London, Ontario, native has compiled 52 goals and 71 assists for 123 points in 134 games. Last season, he recorded 49 points (23G-26A) in 68 games, earning Soo’s ‘Rookie of the Year’ award.
McConnell-Barker was selected by the Rangers in the third round, 97th overall, of the 2022 NHL Draft.
