GREENVILLE, SC – This summer the Greenville Road Warriors are counting down the top ten moments from their inaugural season in the ECHL. Today the curtain gets peeled back on the ninth best moment from 2010-11.
T.J. Reynolds was coming off of a career-best season with the Charlotte Checkers in 2009-10. The veteran defenseman registered 21 points on five goals and 16 assists – which were all the highest totals of his eight seasons in pro hockey. He came to Greenville for his ninth season with the expectations of anchoring the team’s blue line, providing leadership as the team’s most experienced player and captain, and providing an element of toughness. If he was able to produce the offensive numbers equivalent to last season, that would be an added bonus. His assists, 14, were just about on par with the 09-10 season and his penalty minutes, 206, were third most in the league. Goals, however, were much tougher to come by. Reynolds’ first of the season wasn’t a game winner nor did it have much of an effect on the outcome of the game, but it still brought the BI-LO Center crowd to its feet.
T.J. Reynolds’ first goal of the season in the final regular season game is Top Moment No. 9 in our countdown. You can view the video here.
The Road Warriors are also unveiling, today, their 2010-11 season recap slide show. For seven months the Road Warriors put together one of the most impressive debut seasons in ECHL history and fans can re-live the journey through the images captured over the course of the season. Special thanks go out to Billy Crowe and Richard Shiro for providing the images used to create the slide show. Fans can view it here.
