GREENVILLE, SC –The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that they have acquired forward Tim Crowder in a trade with the Wheeling Nailers in exchange for future considerations.
Crowder, 25, was drafted by the Pittsburg Penguins in the fifth round (126th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Now in his third season in the ECHL, Crowder has posted 25 goals and 52 assists in 124 career games. In seven games with Wheeling this season, the Victoria, British Columbia native has put up four assists and plus-four rating. In the Road Warriors‘ playoff series against Wheeling last season, Crowder registered five points (1G, 4A) in six games for the Nailers.
Prior to turning pro, Crowder spent four seasons at Michigan State University. In 151 games for the Spartans, Crowder tallied 50 goals and 56 assists. In 2007, Crowder helped Michigan State to its third NCAA Championship, defeating Boston College in the championship game 3-1.
