Tonight two of the hottest teams in the ECHL square off as the Greenville Road Warriors put their winning streak on the line against the Toledo Walleye‘s streak. Tonight’s game is the fifth of six straight for Greenville at the BI-LO Center.

The Road Warriors (30-18-3, 63 pts.) host Toledo (22-23-4, 48 pts.) today for the fourth of five meetings this season between the clubs. Fans can follow the action by watching live on America One or listening at Greenvilleroadwarriors.com. The Road Warriors are 3-0-0 this season against the Walleye and 5-0-0 overall in their history against Toledo. Toledo carries a four-game winning streak into the game on the back of goalie Alec Richards who is 4-0-0 for Toledo since being sent down from Rockford of the American Hockey League. Greenville, meanwhile, has won each of its last three after dropping the first of a six-game home stand.

NOTEWORTHY:

The Road Warriors are averaging 4.8 goals per game over their last five (4-1-0). Toledo is giving up two goals per game on its four-game win streak. Greenville is 21-3-0 when scoring four or more goals.
Brendan Connolly has recorded 10 points (3G, 7A) in four games since returning to Greenville from AHL Texas.

Greenville is one of two teams with two players in the top six in scoring in the league. Justin Bowers ranks fourth with 59 points and Brendan Connolly is sixth with 53. Las Vegas is the other team.

Greenville is third in the league, first in the East, with 59 third period goals, and fifth in the league with 52 first period goals. Toledo has given up the third most third period goals at 59.

Despite 18 goals in Greenville’s last three games, Jeff Prough has not registered a point. He ranks fourth on the team in points but has just three (2G, 1A) in his last seven games.

Mitch Beck was a standup comedian and radio personality for over 25 years. His passion for hockey started with Team USA in 1980 when they defeated the Soviets at Lake Placid.
