THE BATTLE FOR FIRST

Ray SchmittBY: Ray Schmitt, Voice of the Greenville Road Warriors

First place in the Eastern Conference is on the line when the Greenville Road Warriors host the Gwinnett Gladiators tomorrow night.

The divisional matchup taking place at the BI-LO Center tomorrow, March 6, will be pivotal in the Road Warriors’ push for the Kelly Cup Playoffs. The puck is scheduled to drop at 7:35 p.m.

Entering play this week, Gwinnett holds a slim one-point advantage over Greenville as the top team in the South Division and Eastern Conference. The Gladiators leapfrogged idle Greenville for first with a 5-4 win over the Trenton Titans on Sunday. The Road Warriors’ task will be to slow down the Gladiators who have won three straight contests while also preserving their own winning streak.

Greenville has rattled off four consecutive victories and the 36 wins that it has compiled are the most in the Eastern Conference. Tuesday’s game is the first of two this week between the Road Warriors and Gladiators.

Fans coming out to the game have a great opportunity to save on their tickets with the Two For Tuesday offer presented by BI-LO.
