AHL LIVE UPDATE

On Sunday evening, Howlings was in contact with AHL Commissioner Dave Andrews. We discussed the many emails and phone calls we've received regarding the service and outages in coverage from AHL LIVE. We also addressed the issues many of our readers have brought to our attention regarding the access to archived games. Commissioner Andrews immediately acted upon our inquiry and directed us to Christos Nikolis, EVP, Marketing and Business Development. Nikolis is the AHL's point man with NeuLion, the corporate parent of AHL LIVE.

Here is the response that we've received that should illuminate the situation for many of you…

"I want to thank (your readers) for their support of AHL hockey… I am glad to update you on some of the issues (they) raised.

We are very excited about our partnership with NeuLion on AHL Live and have worked very hard with NeuLion on the look and quality of the site and individual game broadcasts. In the early part of the season, we did encounter some technical issues, which we believe have been rectified in recent weeks. During Sunday’s Free Preview, there was one technical issue that affected several dozen fans, but I am told it was quickly rectified. We had a strong response in terms of total users and first time users for the eight games on Sunday.

Regarding the season pass, there was some confusion about inclusion of archived games for early purchasers of season pass packages. To ensure our fans and users of the site are completely satisfied, all fans who purchased season passes before December 1 were provided access to archived games for the entire season. Pricing and package information was adjusted on the site as of December 1 to clarify the benefits of each package option.

Regarding any fans that are still having any problems with any part of AHL Live, I would encourage them to contact me (cnikolis@theahl.com) or Ron Nunn at NeuLion (ron.nunn@neulion.com) any time we can be of assistance. We certainly want to ensure that all AHL Live users are having a great experience."

We'll have more on this story shortly…
