back to the .500 mark at 3-3-0-1 for seven points. After a 5-4 shootout
loss in Worcester on Wednesday night, the Pack rebounded to post its first
back-to-back wins of the season. They outlasted the Philadelphia Phantoms,

multiple-goal triumph of the season Saturday at home vs. Manchester, 4-1.

The Wolf Pack continues a stretch of seven straight home
games with three home-ice outings. Head Coach Kevin Dineen and the
divisional-rival Portland Pirates invade the XL Center for a 7:00 game on
Wednesday night, followed by the Worcester Sharks for Guida’s Family Value
Night and “Howl-een” Night Friday (7:00). The Albany River Rats then make
their one and only regular-season visit to
Hartford on Saturday night (7:00).

The Pirates have a new NHL affiliate this year, the Buffalo
Sabres, after three seasons of partnership with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks.
Former Hartford Whaler icon Kevin Dineen, however, is still at the helm of the
Pirates, after leading the club to Game Seven of the Eastern Conference Finals
last spring.
Portland has won four of its five games thus far this year,
for eight points, and sits in second place in the Atlantic Division, three
points behind division-leading Providence
Mark Mancari is averaging two points per-game (4-6-10 in 5
GP) to lead the Pirates in scoring, and former Boston College star Nathan Gerbe
(5-2-7 in 5 GP) tops the club in goals.
The Pirates ended the Wolf Pack’s season last year, in a
five-game triumph in the first round of the Calder Cup playoffs, after the Pack
had compiled a 3-3-0-1 regular-season record vs. Portland
