KORPIKOSKI COMES TO HARTFORD

According to Newsday's Steve Zipay on his Blue Notes blog, Lauri Korpikoski has been sent down to Hartford to get his game back. This situation is not too different than the ones that Ryan Callahan, Nigel Dawes and before that, Petr Prucha went though.

On the bright side this should really help a Wolf*Pack team that until recently has struggled to score goals…

While this temporary setback is certainly not something that will make the young Finnish center overjoyed, it's probably a pretty safe bet that on the other end of the spectrum the happiest person in Insurance City is none other than P.A. Parenteau?

New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today
that forward Lauri Korpikoski has been assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack of
the American Hockey League (AHL).

Korpikoski, 22, has skated in seven games with the Rangers this season. The
6-1, 195-pounder returns to Hartford, where he registered 23 goals and 27
assists for 50 points, along with 71 penalty minutes in 79 games last season.
His 23 goals tied for third on the Wolf Pack, while he finished fourth on the
club with 50 points. He made his NHL regular season debut on October 4 vs.
Tampa Bay at Prague, Czech Republic.
