The Wolf Pack finished off a seven-game homestand, the
longest in team history, by splitting a pair of games this past week, giving
them a total record of 5-2-0-0 in the seven consecutive home outings. The Pack lost a 4-3 decision to the Worcester
Sharks on Friday night, but then rebounded for a thrilling, 4-3 overtime
victory over Springfield on Saturday evening.
Lauri Korpikoski was the star of that game, as he completed his first
North American pro hat trick with the game-winning goal, with less than five
seconds remaining in OT. Korpikoski also
tallied a goal in Friday’s contest and earned a Sunday recall from the parent
New York Ranger club.
This week:
The Wolf Pack start a stretch in which they play five of the
next seven games, and nine of the next 12, on the road, by venturing into
uncharted territory. The Wolf Pack will
visit Grand Rapids for the first time ever on Friday (7:00 faceoff), and then
will travel on to Cleveland for their first-ever matchup with the Lake Erie
Monsters on Sunday (3:00).

the North Division through ten games.
• 25-year-old
Ville Leino, in his first season of North American pro hockey, leads Grand
Rapids in points, with 4-9-13.

November 11, 2008 at 9:50 PMI was looking at the Lake Erie roster and couldn’t find Dale Purinton on their roster, was wondering if he still part of the Colorado Avalanche system? If not maybe he might fit here in Hartford again to take more of a leadership role and to close out his playing career. That is if he would play smart thinking hockey. (not taking thinkless penalties)
