A $17,943.55 MISCUE

ImagesFormer Hartford Wolf Pack defenseman Thomas Pock, will miss the next five games with the NY Islanders after receiving a suspension by the NHL front office following a brutal shot the Austrian defenseman made to the head of Ottawa forward Ryan Shannon.

Thomas Pock is not a dirty player; nor is he someone that would revel in a hit that would hurt another person. It's just not his nature. Add in the fact that Pock and Shannon know each other from their U.S. college days and even talked to one another just before the game.

"I didn't mean to hit him like that," Pock told The Canadian Press. "I've got to give him a call later. It was a bad play. That's all I can say about it. I hope he's all right."
