Brock McBride, David Stich and Trevor Glass Deleted from Roster

HARTFORD, April 27, 2009:  Hartford Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the team has released three players, forward Brock McBride and defensemen David Stich and Trevor Glass, from their Amateur Tryout (ATO) agreements.

McBride, who joined the Wolf Pack March 25 after a four-year career at St. Lawrence University, posted four assists and a +4, along with nine penalty minutes, in eight regular-season games.  He also dressed for five of the Pack’s six playoff games, and was Even with two PIM.

Stich registered two assists and a +3, and served four minutes in penalties, in four regular-season games with the Wolf Pack.  The Czech Republic native came to the Pack from Saint John of the QMJHL March 30.

Glass, who played in the Western Hockey League this year with the Spokane Chiefs, signed his ATO April 17 and did not appear in a game for the Wolf Pack.

The Wolf Pack’s season ended this past Saturday, with a 5-3 loss at Worcester in Game Six of their Atlantic Division series against the Sharks.

It is never too early, however, to start looking ahead to next season, and season tickets for the Wolf Pack’s 2009-10 AHL campaign are on sale now.  Fans can receive 5% off their 2009-10 full-season ticket orders, by purchasing their seats by May 1.  Call the Wolf Pack ticket office at (860) 548-200 to talk with an account executive today for more information.  The Wolf Pack is offering “Knockout Season Ticket Prices” for 2009-10, with across-the-board price reductions of 8-13% depending on the seat location.  To learn more, visit www.hartfordwolfpack.com.

    Hey Mitch,
Regarding ATO’s? Is Gaulton still Ranger property?
From what you wrote…I thought Mcbride was playing well…why the quick release?
Stich a big strong guy..isn’t that an obvious need for the fragile Rangers?

Mitch Gaulton remains Ranger property provided the Rangers tender him an offer of interest to keep his draft rights. If they do (and they have always done so with draft picks) then Gaulton’s rights will belong to the Rangers for another year.
Given how David Stich has already been to Traverse City as well as last year’s Ranger’s camp, I for one expect that they will invite him back yet again this year.

    Thank you Jess..
Gaulton seems to have a lot of talent..just hit with that big injury.
I hope Stich is back…we need size and snarl on the back line.
Staal should be paired with a Beukeboom/Erskine type.

I am unclear about the immediate current status of the players. Are they still around?
I’d expect that, if the Rangers survive tonight, they’d add a few others for depth, at least a 7th D and 3d G. Are guys like Potter, Zaba, Moore etc still in the area?

Next season Tysen Dowzak and/or Tomas Kundratek are already under contract to the Rangers so they might be there.
Gaulton because of his injury history/being out of shape should be back in the OHL as a 20 year old.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Stich as he can (a) return to the QMJHL as a 20 yr old (being an overager and Euro makes him popular since he fills 2 slots for 1), (b)return to Europe or (c)accept an AHL contract from the Rangers
