Matt Zaba sustained a concussion on a hit to the head at the end of the first period by Liam Reddox in the Saturday night home opener necessitating the return of Miika Wiikman.

GOALTENDER MIIKA WIIKMAN REASSIGNED TO WOLF PACK FROM CHARLOTTE
Hartford Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the parent New York Rangers have reassigned goaltender Miika Wiikman to the Wolf Pack from the team’s ECHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers.
Since being assigned to Charlotte Monday, Wiikman had appeared in one Checker preseason game, playing the first two periods of a contest vs. South Carolina last night and getting the win in a 3-2 triumph, with two goals-against on 12 shots.
Last season, Wiikman saw action in 43 AHL games for the Pack, going 21-18-4 with a 2.70 goals-against average, a 90.4% save percentage and two shutouts. In 77 career outings in a Wolf Pack uniform over two seasons, the Mariestad, Sweden native is 42-26-7, with a 2.53 GAA, a 91.1% save percentage and four shutouts.
The Wolf Pack are back in action this afternoon in Providence, visiting the Bruins for a 4:05 game (WTIC HD-2, www.hartfordwolfpack.com, www.wtic.com). The Pack’s next home game is Saturday, October 24 vs. the Lowell Devils, with faceoff at 7:00.
