ROAD WARRIORS MAKE VISIT TO TIGERVILLE ELEMENTARY

The Greenville Road Warriors headed up Highway 25 today to the northern part of Greenville County to pay a visit to Tigerville Elementary School.

Road Warriors players T.J. Reynolds, Sean Berkstresser, Connor Shields, Marc-Olivier Vallerand, Chris Morehouse, Cullen Eddy, Mark Voakes, Justin Bowers, Sam Klassen, and Julien Brouillette spoke to groups of third and fourth graders at Tigerville for 30 minutes. The talked focused on physical fitness and proper nutrition, and also touched on the daily routines of hockey players and what the players do to take care of their bodies during the season. The enthusiastic students had time for a question and answer session with the players, and even got to do some of the warm up exercises the players do.

Class visit_1As the program was ending the Road Warriors gave the students information on how they could earn free tickets to the team’s home game on November 21, 2010. To reinforce the message of physical fitness and staying active, the Road Warriors will give Tigerville students who are active for an hour a day for the next weClass visit_6ek a free ticket to the game on the 21st.

Mark your calendars! The Road Warriors are back on home ice to take on the Florida Everblades on Thursday, November 11 at 7:05 p.m. ET. The Road Warriors will honor active military members and military veterans by giving them one free ticket to the game. Mitch Beck

Mitch Beck was a standup comedian and radio personality for over 25 years. His passion for hockey started with Team USA in 1980 when they defeated the Soviets at Lake Placid. He has also worked in hockey as a coach and administrator. He also works for USA Hockey as a Coach Developer. Mitch has been reporting on the New York Rangers, and exclusively on the Hartford Wolf Pack since 2005.
