NEW YORK RANGERS UNVEIL NEW HERITAGE JERSEY TO CELEBRATE 85th ANNIVERSARY
The 2010-11 hockey season marks the 85th Anniversary of the New York Rangers franchise. In honor of this special milestone, the Rangers unveiled a new Heritage jersey tonight at an event for fans at Rockefeller Center presented by The Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express.
Rangers players including Henrik Lundqvist, Sean Avery, Chris Drury, Marian Gaborik and Brandon Dubinsky were joined by legends Brian Leetch, Adam Graves, Rod Gilbert and Eddie Giacomin to celebrate the jersey unveiling.
The new Rangers jersey is a contemporized throwback that was inspired by the team’s rich history, the city of New York and legendary Rangers players. The jerseys sold at Madison Square Garden will have several exclusive details, including the retired Rangers numbers in the hemline and an official 85th anniversary logo patch on the sleeve. The Rangers will wear the new jersey for the first time on Wednesday, November 17 against the Boston Bruins. In the future, the team will wear the jersey when they play one of the other Original Six teams and during Sunday home games.
