The Connecticut Whale are having trouble scoring goals. That’s a secret to nobody. With the disclosure that came after the afternoon contest between the New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers that right wing Marian Gaborik has sustained a concussion meaning that a scoring forward is going to be called up, and based upon the way they’re playing currently that’s either Dale Weise, Brodie Dupont or even Kris Newbury, if John Tortorella wants to go a different route, the need for a scoring forward becomes that much more necessary.
So the end result is that Jim Schoenfeld has gone out and signed the ECHL’s best scoring forward Francis Lemieux to a Professional Try-Out (PTO) contract.
