Greenville Road WarriorsGREENVILLE, SC – The Greenville Road Warriors will provide media members an opportunity to get unique footage tomorrow at the BI-LO Center beginning at 12:30 p.m.

WHO: Road Warriors coaches, players, and Rowdy the Road Hog

WHAT: Unveiling the Road Warriors’ smash up car.

WHEN: Wednesday, April 13, 2011. 12:30 p.m.

WHERE: The BI-LO Center Plaza. 650 N. Academy St. Greenville, SC 29601.

WHY: The Road Warriors have acquired and decorated a junk car with a Wheeling Nailers theme. This car will be used at the Road Warriors’ pre-game block parties on Thursday, April 14 and Friday, April 15 beginning at 5:00 p.m. for fans over 18 to take turns smashing with a sledge hammer. It will cost $2 to take a turn smashing the car and half of the proceeds will be donated to Greenville Special Olympics. On Wednesday afternoon, Rowdy, along with Road Warriors players, will strike the ceremonial first blow with the hammer. Players and coaches will be made available for interviews.

The Road Warriors begin their best-of-seven Eastern Conference Semifinals series against the Wheeling Nailers on Thursday, April 14 at 7:35 p.m. at the BI-LO Center. The series follows a 2-3-2 format with following games scheduled at the BI-LO Center for Friday, April 15, Tuesday, April 26, and Wednesday, April 27. All playoff games at the BI-LO Center begin at 7:35 p.m. and the games on the 26th and 27th will be played if necessary. Individual and group tickets for all games are on sale right now through the BI-LO Center Box Office, Ticketmaster outlets, and the Road Warriors front office.

Mitch Beck

Mitch Beck was a standup comedian and radio personality for over 25 years. His passion for hockey started with Team USA in 1980 when they defeated the Soviets at Lake Placid. He has also worked in hockey as a coach and administrator. He also works for USA Hockey as a Coach Developer. Mitch has been reporting on the New York Rangers, and exclusively on the Hartford Wolf Pack since 2005.
