King Alec Kirschner Signs with Danbury Whalers
Danbury Whalers president and general manager, Herm Sorcher Monday announced the signing of forward Alec Kirschner to return for the 2011-12 hockey season.
Kirschner, a mid-season free agent acquisition by the team last season played in only 17 games, but potted 22 goals and added, 18 helpers while leading the Whalers with a plus-27. During the playoffs, the Dix Hills, New York native led the team with seven points in five games.
Kirschner’s 2011-12 season also included two games with the Wheeling Nailers of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).
With so many highlight reel moments through 22 games, Kirschner’s list of accomplishments include:

Kirschner previous hockey experience reads two seasons at the University of Connecticut, the Muskegeon Lumberjacks of the IHL, Tulsa Oilers of the CHL, and the Flint Generals of the IHL.
