ROAD WARRIORS ASK, “HOW MANY CALORIES IN KALAMAZOO WINGS?”

For now the Greenville Road Warriors are done living up to their nickname. After six straight away from home, the Road Warriors are back at the BI-LO Center tonight for a 7:35 p.m. meeting with the Kalamazoo Wings.

The Road Warriors (27-17-3, 57 pts.) host Kalamazoo (25-15-5, 55 pts.) today for the third of four meetings this season between the clubs. Fans can follow the action by watching live on  America One or listening at Greenvilleroadwarriors.com. The Road Warriors are 1-1-0 this season against the Wings and 4-3-0 overall in their history against Kalamazoo. Tonight could very well turn into an offensive slugfest in the Upstate. The Road Warriors are third in the Eastern Conference with 149 goals this season and have scored 17 goals in their last five home games. Kalamazoo, meanwhile, leads the conference with 163 goals scored. When these teams have met this season they are combining to average 8.5 goals per game.

Come out and join the Road Warriors for their final Throwback Thursday of the season with $2 Bud Light drafts, $2 hot dogs, $2 pretzels, and $2 fountain drinks. The BI-LO Family Fun Section will be open tonight and fans can claim up to four free tickets, while supplies last, by showing their BI-LO BONUSCARD at the ticket window starting two hours prior to the game. Once the game is over, the party doesn’t have to end because you can take your ticket stub to Sharkey’s Pub on Main St. tonight to get $2 drafts.

NOTEWORTHY:

The Road Warriors tied a club record with three power play goals in their 4-1 win over South Carolina on Tuesday. Greenville has scored three PPG in a game six times this season (5-1-0).

Two of the 10 games in which Jeremy Gouchie has recorded a point this season have been multi-point games.

Greenville’s 149 goals scored are third most in the Eastern Conference. The Road Warriors have averaged 3.4 goals in their last five home games (4-1-0).

Road Warriors defenseman Lee Baldwin set a career high with three points (3A) in the 4-1 win over South Carolina on Feb. 7. It was Baldwin’s second multi-point game of his career.

Forward Jeff Prough logged his 12th multi-point game of the season with a goal and assist Tuesday night at South Carolina. His power play goal was his first since Jan. 21 vs. Gwinnett.

Mitch Beck was a standup comedian and radio personality for over 25 years. His passion for hockey started with Team USA in 1980 when they defeated the Soviets at Lake Placid. He has also worked in hockey as a coach and administrator. He also works for USA Hockey as a Coach Developer.
