VALLERAND MAKES AHL DEBUT

The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that forward Marc-Olivier Vallerand has been loaned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League.

Vallerand, 22, is making the first trip of his career to the AHL. The second-year winger currently leads the Road Warriors, and ranks fifth in the ECHL, with 27 goals. His is coming off of a three point game (1G, 2A) on Friday night in helping the Road Warriors defeat the Trenton Titans 5-2.

As a rookie in 2010-11 Vallerand led the Road Warriors with 28 goals and was named to the 2011 ECHL All-Star Team. He had a goal and two assists in the All-Stars‘ victory over the host Bakersfield Condors. The 5-11, 200-pound native of Longueuil, Quebec has missed just three games in his time with Greenville and his 123 games played with Greenville are second only to T.J. Reynolds’ 125. His 55 goals for the team are more than any other player to suit up for the Road Warriors.

Mitch Beck was a standup comedian and radio personality for over 25 years. His passion for hockey started with Team USA in 1980 when they defeated the Soviets at Lake Placid. He has also worked in hockey as a coach and administrator. He also works for USA Hockey as a Coach Developer. Mitch has been reporting on the New York Rangers, and exclusively on the Hartford Wolf Pack since 2005.
