CANTLON: MORE PLAYER MOVEMENT

HARTFORD, CT – There has been a surprising amount of Hartford Wolf Pack / Maine Mariners, and Connecticut-related hockey players and coaches making moves.

Carleton University Ravens (OUAA) goalie, Francois Brassard, who last season played six games with the Mariners, the Wolf Pack’s ECHL affiliate, has signed a deal with Maine for this coming season. He was given a training camp tryout contract by the New York Rangers.

Troy Harwell (Southbury/Watertown-Pomperaug), the younger brother of Chase Harwell (Concordia University-OUAA), was traded from Terrebonne Cobras (QJAAAHL) to the Valleyfield Braves (QJAAAHL).

Four more NCAA collegiate transfers, two Division I and two to Division III.

Gavin Gould, 23, moves from Michigan Tech (WCHA) to Bowling Green (WCHA) while Logan Coomes exits Merrimack College (HE) to head to the University Alaska-Fairbanks (WCHA).

Carson Vance of Western Michigan (Big 10) heads to Division III SUNY-Oswego (SUNYAC) as Donovan Ott leaves RPI (ECACHL) to join Utica College (UCHC).

Former New Haven Nighthawk, Mikael Lindholm, leaves Gavle GIK (Sweden J-18) squad as a head coach to Strombro IF (Sweden Division-3) as an assistant coach.

Four more NCAA pro signings.

Nick Farmer of Niagara University (AHA) heads to Wichita (ECHL). Bryan Lemos of Providence College (HE) signs with the Kansas City Mavericks (ECHL). Ryan Blair of UMASS-Lowell (HE), signs with the South Carolina Stingrays (ECHL). Connor Yau from Dartmouth College (ECACHL) signs with the Utah Grizzlies (ECHL).

Jason Beal, who was a Sacred Heart University (AHA) Assistant Coach for five years, was named the new Assistant Coach with Providence College (HE). He comes over from Miami (OH) (NCHC) and played for current Friars coach Nate Leaman when he was at Union College (ECACHL).
