SHELLEY: RABBITS GET REDMOND, GOALIE FROM KC

GREENVILLE, S.C. –  The Greenville Swamp Rabbits, ECHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers, announced today that the club had acquired goaltender Angus Redmond from the Kansas City Mavericks in exchange for cash considerations.

Redmond, 26, joins the Swamp Rabbits after appearing in 12 games for the Mavericks, where he posted a 5-6-0 record with a 3.38 goals-against average and a .884 save percentage. During the 2020-2021 season, Redmond made two additional appearances for the Mavericks, posting a 2-0-0 record with a 2.00 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage.

The 6’2″, 196-pound Langley, BC native has appeared in 79 ECHL games with seven different clubs and has made five appearances in the AHL, two with the San Diego Gulls in 2019 (0-0-1, 2.85, .909) and three with the Toronto Marlies in 2021 (0-0-1, 3.17, .824).

Before turning professional, Redmond excelled for the Michigan State Spartans for one season in his NCAA career, posting a 22-10-5 record through 38 games. Before college, the newly minted Swamp Rabbit backstopped the Salmon Arm Silverbacks of the BCHL for four-season.
