GREENVILLE, SC The Greenville Road Warriors announced today their opening roster for the 2011-12 season. The team also announced its captain and two alternate captains.

The Road Warriors open the 2011-12 season with nine skaters returning from the club that won the South Division and Eastern Conference regular season titles in 2010-11. They are joined by 11 new faces, six of whom are rookies at the professional level.

Forward Jason Wilson, goalie Jason Missiaen, and defenseman Woody Klassen will begin the season on the IR. Forward Chris Chappell has been recalled by the New York Rangers and defenseman T.J. Fast is on loan to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League. The Road Warriors also hold the ECHL rights to forward Mark Voakes and defenseman Ryan Lowery. Voakes signed an AHL contract with the Rochester Americans while Lowery, a rookie out of Colorado College, has signed with the Oklahoma City Barons of the AHL.

The Road Warriors also held a team vote this week to determine the captains for the 2011-12 season. Defenseman T.J. Reynolds was selected to serve as Greenville’s captain for the second consecutive season while forward Justin Bowers and defenseman Wes Cunningham will serve as the alternate captains.

Mark your calendars! The Road Warriors open the season at the BI-LO Center on October 14 at 7:35 p.m. against the Wheeling Nailers.
