The Wolf Pack (21-15-1-4, 47 pts.) claimed sole possession of fourth place in the AHL’s Atlantic Division this past week, by splitting four road games. The week began with a 3-2 loss to the Lowell Devils Wednesday at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. The Pack then scored a 5-2 in Worcester Friday, against a Shark team that came into the game on a six-game winning streak. The Albany River Rats turned the Wolf Pack back, 3-1, at the Times-Union Center in Albany Saturday, but the Pack finished the weekend with a 2-1 overtime win Sunday at Providence. Ilkka Heikkinen had six points in the four games, with a goal and five assists, and Dale Weise scored goals in all four contests (5-0-5), the longest goal-scoring streak by a Wolf Pack player this season.
This week:
The Wolf Pack play a pair of Atlantic-Division games this weekend, heading into the All-Star break. The Providence Bruins invade the XL Center for a 7:00 game this Saturday night, on “Faith and Family Night”, and the Pack then travel to Manchester Sunday to take on the first-place Monarchs, with faceoff at 3:00.
Tuesday, January 12 – Connecticut Children’s Medical Center Wolf Pack Holiday Party – Monster Mini-Golf, Windsor Locks, 5:30 PM
Wolf Pack players will join outpatients from the Hematology/Oncology department of Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, and their families, for their annual Holiday get-together Tuesday, January 12. The party will take place at Monster Mini-Golf, 20 Main St., Windsor Locks, from 5:30-8:00 PM. The players will be enjoying the fun of mini-golf with, and distributing goodies to, children who have recovered from, or are recovering from, cancer.
Saturday, January 16 vs. Providence at the XL Center, 7:00 PM
· This is “Faith and Family Night” at the XL Center. The Wrecking will be performing in the Atrium from 5:30-7:00 PM, and Ten-Shekel Shirt will be giving a special post-game concert in the Atrium.
· The first 3,000 fans into the game will receive a free Wolf Pack team poster, courtesy of Supercuts.
· After their 2-1 overtime victory in Providence Sunday, the Wolf Pack are 4-1-1-0 in the season series against the Bruins. At home the Pack have a win and an overtime loss in previous action vs. Providence.
· Sunday’s defeat to the Wolf Pack dropped the Bruins to 1-3-1-0 in their last five games and 3-6-1-0 in their last 10. Head Coach Rob Murray’s club currently stands at 19-20-2-0 for 40 points, seven points behind the Wolf Pack in the Atlantic Division.
· Zach Hamill scored Providence’s only goal in Sunday’s game against the Wolf Pack, a power-play tally with 3:40 to play in the third period that tied the game at one.
· As with all Wolf Pack Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday-night home games, this night features $3 domestic drafts and snacks in the XL Center Atrium.

· At 25-11-1-4 for 55 points, the Monarchs lead the Atlantic Division by a margin of five points over second-place Worcester.
· The Wolf Pack are 2-2-0-0 in four meetings with the Monarchs this season, but have lost both of their previous visits to Manchester, including a 7-1 drubbing December 4 in the two clubs’ last encounter.
· Manchester scoring leader Corey Elkins has climbed into a tie for sixth in the AHL in rookie points, with 11-15-26 in 37 games.

Monday, January 18 and Tuesday, January 19 – The Time-Warner Cable 2010 AHL All-Star Classic, at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, ME
Wolf Pack representatives are Corey Locke on the Canadian team and Bobby Sanguinetti on the Planet USA squad, for the AHL’s yearly All-Star event. The Ducks Unlimited 2010 AHL Skills Competition begins the excitement Monday, January 18 at 8:00 PM, and the 2010 AHL All-Star Game is Tuesday, January 19, facing off at 6:00 PM. It all takes place at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, ME, and both the Skills Competition and the All-Star game will be telecast live on NESN and MSG Network.

Players compete to earn tips in “puck bucks” for their service and for entertaining guests. Proceeds from “Tip-a-Player” benefit Gaylord Specialty Healthcare.
