Andrew Gross of the Bergen Record reports that all-around good guy and ex-Pack and ex-Ranger Jed Ortmeyer has been released by the NY Islanders as has ex-Pack Anders Eriksson. Both were released from Try-Out agreements.
Hopefully Ortmeyer will be picked up by someone. Ortmeyer leaves his heart and guts on the ice with every shift and is an all-around terrific person.
