GREENVILLE, SC – The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that goaltender Brian Stewart has been loaned to the team by the Adirondack Phantoms of the American Hockey League.
The rookie goaltender has appeared in three games with the Road Warriors and recorded a 2-1-0 record with a 2.68 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage. Stewart is on a two-game winning streak and helped the Road Warriors go 4-0-0 on their road trip last week by posting wins on November 24 in Wheeling and November 26 in Kalamazoo.
Stewart, a Northern Michigan University alum, has appeared in four games with the Adirondack Phantoms this season. During his most recent stint with the team he served as the backup to former Road Warrior Nic Riopel on November 28 in a 3-0 loss to the Connecticut Whale. The 6-4, 195 pound goalie appeared in three games with Adirondack last season on an amateur tryout contract and earned his first pro win with 31 saves on April 7 against Binghamton.
