ROAD WARRIORS ANNOUNCE PLAYER MOVES

Greenville Road WarriorsGREENVILLE, SC – The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that Andrew Rowe has been loaned to the team by the Adirondack Phantoms of the American Hockey League. Additionally, the Road Warriors have loaned Connor Shields to the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals.

Rowe, a rookie out of Michigan State University, is expected to make his ECHL debut tonight with the Road Warriors in Cincinnati against the Cyclones. The 6-2, 185-pound forward comes to Greenville after logging 49 games with Adirondack this season. In that time Rowe registered 12 points (7G, 5A) and 15 penalty minutes. He signed with the Flyers organization after three years at Michigan State where he posted 49 points (26G, 23A) in 94 games. His best season came as a junior in 2009-10 when he finished second on the team with 17 goals and fourth with 28 points.
Shields, a second-year pro from Dartmouth, is making his third career trip to the AHL. In five games last season between Norfolk and Binghamton, Shields netter a pair of goals and two penalty minutes. He was the leading scorer as a rookie last season for the Johnstown Chiefs with 62 points (28G, 34A) in 70 games, and also represented the Chiefs at the ECHL All-Star Game in Ontario, California. He currently ranks second on the Road Warriors with 46 points (16G, 30A) through 55 games.

The Road Warriors will return home to the BI-LO Center to battle the Trenton Devils on Friday, March 4 at 7:05 p.m. In conjunction with SHINE 96.7, the Road Warriors will be presenting “Church Night 2011” with a live, post-game performance from recording artists MyCalvary.
