This season for the Hartford Wolf Pack it’s going to be a very interesting season indeed. The American Hockey League moments ago released their schedule for the new 2010-2011 season and there are some REALLY interesting things to note.
The Wolf Pack open the season at home against…The Charlotte Checkers, last season’s ECHL team that this season moves up to the American League. That would also mean that defenseman and former Rangers first round pick Bobby Sanguinetti could possibly be playing his first AHL game with Charlotte against the team that he started with the past several years.
The Pack have two long home stands. The first is a five game run from Wednesday October 20 through Friday November 29th. The second is at the end of the season when they are at the XL Center from March 19th – March 26th.
What could potentially make-or-break the Pack season is a grueling run eleven of fourteen games on the road from February 5th till March 8th.
The Pack also return a day game for the kids on November 17th at 11am. The team will participate in two other midday games on the road. The first comes on February 9th at 11am against Toronto and the second on Monday February 21st at 1pm.
There could be a big game announced on February 19th. As most of you know, Howard Baldwin has his Hockey Festival schedule for Rentschler Field. The only day of that festival where the Pack would be in the neighborhood is on the final day of the festival on February 19th. They host Providence that night. Remember, this is NOT official yet and likely the 7pm start time would likely need to be changed to earlier in the day.
What are your thoughts on the season schedule?
