COULTER TO RACE CHARLOTTE CHECKERS CAR SATURDAY
No. 16 Charlotte Checkers Hockey Chevrolet to run Saturday at Rockingham

Coulter Motorsports and the Charlotte Checkers have teamed up to announce the running of the No. 16 Charlotte Checkers Hockey Chevrolet at this Saturday’s ARCA series finale at Rockingham Speedway.

Joey Coulter, a rising star in the racing world, will pilot the special edition car, whose graphics were designed by NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Justin Allgaier and incorporate the Checkers’ logo and Charlotte city skyline. Coulter will be promoting the inaugural AHL game in Charlotte by yelling “Let’s Go Checkers!” and encouraging fans to attend the game.

“I am excited about the new marketing partnership that Coulter Motorsports has allowed the Checkers family to be a part of in Rockingham,” said Checkers COO Tera Black. “Incorporating two fast paced, high intensity sports in one environment is thrilling.”

Coulter has been involved in several of the Checkers’ community initiatives over the past year. He was a major supporter of Lift Up Ellie and will wear his custom painted LiftUpEllie.com helmet in honor of the little girl who lost her battle to cancer earlier this year.

The Checkers’ home opener is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 15 at Time Warner Cable Arena. Season tickets for the inaugural 2010-11 AHL season are now on sale and season ticket packages start as low as $10 per game. Ticket information can be obtained by calling 704-342-4-ICE or visiting www.gocheckers.com.
