VINNY PROSPAL UNDERGOES SUCCESSFUL SURGERY

Procedure on knee performed this morning

 

New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that forward Vinny Prospal underwent successful surgery on his knee this morning.  The procedure was performed by Dr. Andrew Feldman at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York.  Prospal will be sidelined for six to eight weeks.

The Rangers return to action tonight against the Colorado Avalanche at Madison Square Garden (7:00 p.m.), in the Blueshirts’ first contest vs. a Western Conference opponent this season.  New York has won each of their last two meetings with Colorado, out-scoring the Avalanche, 9-2, over the span.  The game will be televised nationally on Versus and can be heard on 970 The Apple.

Mitch Beck was a standup comedian and radio personality for over 25 years. His passion for hockey started with Team USA in 1980 when they defeated the Soviets at Lake Placid. He has also worked in hockey as a coach and administrator. He also works for USA Hockey as a Coach Developer.
