10/29 & 10/30 vs. South Carolina, 7:05 p.m. & 7:05 p.m. – Home (0-1-0), Away (0-0-0)
After dropping the first of 17 meetings to the Stingrays this past Sunday, the Road Warriors get two more cracks at their in-state rivals this weekend. The games are the fourth and fifth of a six-game season-opening home stand for the Road Warriors, and the third and fourth of a five-game season-opening road trip for the Stingrays. The Road Warriors will be looking to break through against a Stingrays defense that held them to 29 shots on October 24. It was the first time this season that the Road Warriors were out-shot in a game. At the arena the Road Warriors are offering their Friday Family Four-Pack on the 29th and are having a Halloween celebration on the 30th. The Four-Pack features four each of tickets, hot dogs, drinks, pretzels, and bags of chips for $48 while the Halloween celebration will include Silly Bandz given away to children, trick-or-treating, and a costume contest.

Last Week:
10/21 vs. Florida: W 4-1
Matt Schepke registered the first goal in Road Warriors history and Greenville never trailed as they knocked off Florida in its home opener. Florida’s Alex Imbeault tied the game with an early second period goal, but Greenville’s defense clamped down from there and did not allow another score. After Florida starter Bobby Goepfert sustained an injury early in the third period, the Road Warriors took advantage of backup goalie Jaroslav Janus. Julien Brouillette, Brendan Connolly, and Schepke scored in a span of 4:07 to put Greenville in front for good. Nic Riopel turned in 26 saves for his first ECHL win.
10/22 vs. Florida: OTL 6-7
Five different Road Warriors scored and six turned in multi-point efforts, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Alex Imbeault’s hat trick and an equally potent Florida attack. Mark Voakes struck for a pair of goals in the first period to match tallies by Imbeault and Mike Kennedy leaving the score tied after one. Voakes had a chance to complete his hat trick early in the second, but he hit the post with a backhander on a penalty shot. The Road Warriors would eventually seize the lead thanks to scores from Brendan Connolly, Julien Brouillette, and Andrew Carroll in the second. Florida kept it close with Imbeault’s second of the evening, but still trailed by two heading into the third. Matthew Roy and Matt Pistilli erased Greenville’s lead by the 8:13 mark of the third only to see Marc-Olivier Vallerand’s first pro goal put the Road Warriors back up by one at 12:18. Imbeault capped off his hat trick four minutes and 10 seconds later with the goal that would force overtime and then Bobby Raymond blasted a slap shot home with 30 seconds left in the extra frame for the game winner. Nic Riopel made 26 saves while helping the team pick up one point for making to overtime.
10/24 vs. South Carolina: L 2-4
Andrew Carroll provided both goals for the Road Warriors on Sunday evening, but a late fluke goal by the Stingrays proved to be the difference maker. Carroll opened the scoring at 8:58 of the first with a power play marker and followed that with another on the power play at 3:27 of the second period. The Stingrays responded with a power play goal of their own in the second from Josh Godfrey to halve the Road Warriors lead. Maxime Lacroix netted the tying goal with a little less than 13 minutes remaining in the second and set the stage for a deciding third period. A point shot by Josh Godfrey appeared to be caught by Nic Riopel but it dropped from his glove and Nikita Kashirsky was on the doorstep to slip in the game winner. Matt Scherer closed out the scoring with an empty net goal. Riopel made 30 saves on the night.
