Defenseman played in three games with Charlotte

Charlotte Checkers general manager and head coach Jeff Daniels announced today that the team has re-assigned defenseman Ethan Graham to its ECHL affiliate, the Florida Everblades.

Graham, 28, played in three games with the Checkers, recording one assist and a +1 rating. He is expected to join the Everblades for a three-game series against the Kalamazoo Wings beginning tomorrow.

The Checkers (2-6-0) will continue their road trip when they travel Binghamton on Friday for a pair of games against the Senators. Fans can watch or listen to the game by heading to www.ahllive.com beginning at 7:05 p.m. The next home game is Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. when the Checkers host the Portland Pirates. Notes: The Checkers’ home opener was the largest crowd in Charlotte hockey history and is the second largest crowd in the AHL this season (12,512)…Jerome Samson leads the AHL with 47 shots on goal…Jon Matsumoto leads the Checkers with nine points (3g, 6a).

‘CANES RECALL JIRI TLUSTY FROM CONDITIONING STINT

Forward earned two points in five games with AHL’s Charlotte Checkers 

Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled forward Jiri Tlusty (YIH-ree T’LOO-stee) from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). Tlusty notched one goal and earned one assist (2 points) in five games with the Checkers after being assigned there on Oct. 12, for a two-week conditioning stint.

He has also worked in hockey as a coach and administrator. He also works for USA Hockey as a Coach Developer.
