The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that goaltender Dov Grumet-Morris has been loaned to the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League.
Grumet-Morris started each of the last three games for the Road Warriors and won two of them including last nights 6-2 win over the Wheeling Nailers. The 28-year-old goaltender has posted a goals-against average of 2.00 and a save percentage of .940 in those games. He joins a Pirates team that sits in first place in the Atlantic Division as well as the Eastern Conference in the AHL.
The call up is Grumet-Morris’ second of the season. He spent time earlier this season with the Hartford Wolf Pack and appeared in two games earning an 0-1-1 record, 1.32 goals-against average, and .935 save percentage. It is also his second go-around with the Pirates. In the 2006-07 season Grumet-Morris played 11 games in Portland and posted a 1-6-3 record with a 3.03 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage.
Mark your calendars! The Road Warriors are back on home ice Sunday, November 21 to take on the Gwinnett Gladiators at 4:05 p.m. at the BI-LO Center. On top of battling the Gladiators for first place in the South Division, th Road Warriors will host the final day of their Thanks for Giving Weekend. Fans are asked to bring canned food items to give to the Loaves and Fishes food bank. Those who bring at least three canned food items will receive a buy-one-get-one-free ticket coupon for the Road Warriors home game on December 27.
