In a move that does not come as much of a surprise, forward Chris McKelvie has been “loaned” to the Greenville Road Warriors of the ECHL. McKelvie has played in only one game since November 7th against Bridgeport. The New Brighton, Minnesota native played in the November 17th contest at Manchester, but has been a healthy scratch for the last eight games.Here’s the official release:

Rookie Forward Had Three Points in 15 Games
HARTFORD, December 4, 2010: Connecticut Whale general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the team has loaned forward Chris McKelvie to its ECHL affiliate, the Greenville Road Warriors.
McKelvie, a rookie out of Bemidji State University, has scored one goal and added two assists for three points in 15 games with the Whale, and has served 15 minutes in penalties. Last season he played in six games with the Hartford Wolf Pack at the conclusion of his college career, and registered two goals and an assist for three points, plus two penalty minutes. That was after a senior season at Bemidji State that saw McKelvie post totals of 8-10-18, with 26 PIM, in 37 games.
