BRENDAN CONNOLLY AND JUSTIN BOWERS CALLED UP TO AHL

Greenville Road WarriorsESTERO, FLThe Greenville Road Warriors announced today that forwards Brendan Connolly and Justin Bowers have been called up to the American Hockey League.

Connolly joins the Road Warriors’ affiliate the Adirondack Phantoms. Greenville’s leading scorer with 13 goals and 14 assists earned his first promotion to the AHL. Connolly was named the ECHL’s Player of the Month, and Plus Performer of the Month for the month of November after leading the league with 18 points (9G, 9A) and a plus-12 plus/minus rating. He had a league-high 12-game point streak from November 11 to December 2.

Bowers currently rates first on the team in assists with 16 and second with 25 points . He joins the Portland Pirates in his fourth career call up to the AHL. Portland is the fourth different AHL team that Bowers will have played for. He spent nine games with the Lake Erie Monsters and 18 games with the Quad City Flames in the 2008-09 season, and last season earned a two-game sting with the Abbotsford Heat. The fourth-year pro has nine points (5G, 4A) in 29 games in his AHL career.
