ROAD WARRIORS TRADE FOR CLACKSON

Greenville Road WarriorsGREENVILLE, SC – The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that they have acquired the ECHL rights to forward Chris Clackson from the Cincinnati Cyclones in exchange for forward Paul McIlveen.

Clackson, a rookie out of Western Michigan University, joins the Road Warriors after 27 games with the Cyclones and 16 with their American Hockey League affiliate, the Rochester Americans. He was an invitee to the Americans’ training camp, earned a contract there, and had a point in each of his first two professional games. Clackson has totaled four points (2G, 2A) and 27 penalty minutes with the Americans this season along with 13 points (5G, 8A) and 57 penalty minutes with the Cyclones. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Chris is the younger brother of Matt Clackson who is a prospect in the Philadelphia Flyers system and currently playing for the Adirondack Phantoms in the AHL.

McIlveen picked up 13 points (4G, 9A) in 37 games with the Road Warriors.

Mark your calendars! The Road Warriors will return home from a seven-game road trip on Wednesday, February 9 to take on the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:05 p.m. at the BI-LO Center. The Road Warriors will be celebrating Valentine’s Day with special games and promotions throughout the evening.
