A KING AMONG ROAD WARRIORS

GREENVILLE, SC – The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that forward Tristan King has been assigned to the team by the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League.

King, 20, comes to Greenville after beginning the season with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL. The second-year forward notched one goal in four games with Idaho this season. As a rookie in 2010-11 King split his time between Idaho and the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League. He produced four points (2G, 2A) in 11 games with the Stars and 13 points (3G, 10A) in 24 games with the Steelheads.

King played four seasons in the Western Hockey League before turning pro, and signed an entry-level contract with Dallas in 2009. He had his most productive season with the Medicine Hat Tigers in 2009-10 with 65 points (21G, 44A) in 70 games. He also helped the Tigers reach the second round of the WHL playoffs that season with six points (3G, 3A) in 12 games. King has been on the Dallas Stars’ last three entries into the Traverse City Prospects Tournament in Traverse City, Michigan.

Mitch Beck was a standup comedian and radio personality for over 25 years. His passion for hockey started with Team USA in 1980 when they defeated the Soviets at Lake Placid. He has also worked in hockey as a coach and administrator. He also works for USA Hockey as a Coach Developer. Mitch has been reporting on the New York Rangers, and exclusively on the Hartford Wolf Pack since 2005.
