MARC-ANDRE BOURDON BECOMES FIRST ROAD WARRIORS ALUM TO PLAY IN NHL

GREENVILLE, SC Last night former Greenville Road Warriors defenseman Marc-Andre Bourdon played in his first National Hockey League game as a member of the Philadelphia Flyers. He is the first former Road Warriors player to play an NHL game.

A 22-year-old defenseman, Bourdon played in five regular season games and 10 Kelly Cup playoff games as a member of the Road Warriors in 2010-11. He registered two assists during the regular season and added three helpers during post-season play.

In his NHL debut against the Carolina Hurricanes, Bourdon logged 15:49 of ice time, was a +1, and took a minor for interference during the first period. The 6-0, 225-pound rearguard was a third round draft pick of the Flyers (#67 overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry draft. A third-year pro, Bourdon has played 121 games in the American Hockey League with the Adirondack Phantoms and has posted 32 points (3G, 29A) along with 160 penalty minutes.

Bourdon is the 474th former ECHL player to suit up in the NHL.
