JEFF PROUGH AND WES CUNNINGHAM PROMOTED TO AHL
The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that forward Jeff Prough and defenseman Wes Cunningham have been promoted to the American Hockey League.
Prough, 25, is making his third career trip to the AHL. Under contract to the Road Warriors’ affiliate, the Connecticut Whale, he was recalled from his loan to Greenville by the Whale. Prough ranks second on the Road Warriors in goals (12), assists (13) and points (25), and is tied for the league lead with seven power play goals. He is the reigning ECHL Player of the Month after posting 16 points (7G, 9A) in 11 games in November.
Prough has 24 games of AHL experience with the Lowell and Albany Devils. In that time he has produced two goals, six assists, and a +3 rating.
Cunningham, 24, has been loaned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. It is the defenseman’s second trip to the AHL after skating in one game with the Norfolk Admirals in the 2008-09 season. Cunningham is the top-scoring defenseman on the Road Warriors with 11 points (1G, 10A) in 18 games. Last season he was selected an All-ECHL First-Team defenseman after leading ECHL defensemen with 36 assists in 69 games and finishing second among league blueliners with 43 points.
