The Road Warriors have hit the home stretch of their six-game road trip, and tonight they visit the Toledo Walleye for the fifth game of the trip. It’s also the middle game of a weekend three-in-three for Greenville.

The Road Warriors (18-12-2) visit Toledo (13-16-1) tonight for the third of six scheduled meetings between the clubs. Fans can follow the action by watching live on America One  or listening at greenvilleroadwarriors.com.

The Road Warriors are 2-0-0 this season against the Walleye and 4-0-0 overall in their history against Toledo. The Road Warriors are trying to get their defense back on track and snap a two-game losing skid. The Road Warriors have given up six goals each in back-to-back losses to Cincinnati and Kalamazoo this week. They’ll be doing so against a Toledo team that has lost three in a row and has been out-scored 15-3 over that span. The Walleye have not scored more than two goals in a game since a 5-1 win in Trenton on December 18.

NOTEWORTHY:

Greenville has lost two of the last three games in which it has scored first. They account for half of the regulation losses suffered by the Road Warriors when scoring first.

The Road Warriors’ 206 minor penalties are the most in the Eastern Conference and 2nd most in the league behind Bakersfield’s 216.
Greenville is 13-0-0 when giving up two goals or less in a game. The Road Warriors are 5-12-2 when they give up three or more goals in a game.
The Road Warriors have seven players in the lineup that have scored at least two points against Toledo this season. Only four Walleye skaters have registered a point against Greenville.

Jeff Prough has been held to two goals in his last nine games with the Road Warriors including the eight games leading up to his call up to Connecticut. He has six assists, though, in that time.
