The Greenville Road Warriors will try to make it two wins in as many nights against the Gwinnett Gladiators as they host their I-85 rivals at 7:35 p.m. tonight.
The Road Warriors (20-13-2, 42 pts.) host Gwinnett (17-10-9, 43 pts.) today for the fifth of 17 scheduled meetings between the clubs. Fans can follow the action by watching live onĀ America One or listening at greenvilleroadwarriors.com. The Road Warriors are 3-1-0 this season against the Gladiators and 13-8-0 overall in their history against Gwinnett. The Road Warriors won the first of a stretch of four straight games against Gwinnett last night and moved within one point of first place in the division. Last night’s loss was just the second in regulation for Gwinnett in its last 11 games, but it was the Gladiators’ fifth straight in Greenville dating back to February of 2011.
For tonight only the Road Warriors will wear special Clemson-themed jerseys to celebrate the Tigers’ 2010 Atlantic Coast Conference football championship. The jerseys will be auctioned off live immediately following the game. As part of the festivities, former Clemson QB/linebacker Patrick Sapp will be on hand to sign autographs on the concourse from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. and the Clemson Tiger will be in attendance! NOTEWORTHY:
Greenville’s .730 win percentage (13-5-1) against divisional opponents is the best in the Eastern Conference. Only Alaska (.786) and Las Vegas (.833) are better against division opponents.
Last night Sean Perkins became the 7th former Cincinnati Cyclone to play for Dean Stork in Cincinnati and Greenville.
Brett Robinson has scored five goals in six games in the month of January. That matches his production in the 22 games combined from November and December.
Greenville is 8-2-1 on games played Monday through Thursday this season including a 4-1-1 mark on Thursdays. They are 12-11-1 the rest of the days of the week.
T.J. Reynolds leads the Road Warriors all-time in games played at 106. Including last night, the only games Reynolds has missed for Greenville have been due to suspension (2 games).
