MCKELVIE TO GREENVILLE

The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that Chris McKelvie had been loaned to the club by the Connecticut Whale of the American Hockey League.

McKelvie returns to Greenville for the first time since the end of the Road Warriors’ playoff run last April. He has played 38 games with the Connecticut Whale this year, his second year as a pro, tallying five points (2G, 3A) and 42 penalty minutes.

McKelvie, a 6-1, 195-pound forward, played 26 games for the Road Warriors in 2010-11: 16 in the regular season and 10 in the playoffs. In his regular season action, he notched three goals, three assists, and 20 penalty minutes. In the playoffs, he contributed two goals and two assists & had a plus/minus of plus-4.

McKelvie is expected to be in the lineup when the Road Warriors take on the South Carolina Stingrays Friday night at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum.

Mark your calendars! The Road Warriors return to the BI-LO Center for their next home game on Sunday, March 18 at 4:05 p.m. against the Cincinnati Cyclones. Join the Road Warriors for Family Day. Any child 12 years old or younger can get a seat anywhere in the building for just $5! There will also be the traditional post-game skate with the Road Warriors. It’s free to skate with the team after the game to anyone who has a ticket to the game. Skates are also available to rent.
