KUHNS: SWAMP RABBITS ANNOUNCE 2018–19 SEASON OPENING ROSTER

The journey for the Kelly Cup begins October 12

GREENVILLE, S.C. — The Greenville Swamp Rabbits will head into the 2018–19 season with 24 players on the roster ahead of Opening Night at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena on Friday, October 12 against the Toledo Walleye. Many newcomers, along with a few returners sprinkled in, will head into game action, as selected by head coach Kevin Kerr and assistant coach Kahlil Thomas.

The 24 players on the Swamp Rabbits’ roster are as follows:

The Swamp Rabbits return defensemen Sean Flanagan and Chad Duchesne from last season’s squad, and will also bring back forwards J.T. Henke, Timmy Moore and Johno May into the fold. The roster also includes a bevy of pro experience in the form of Michael Pelech (570 ECHL games), Will Merchant (139 ECHL games), Jake Bolton (124 ECHL games), Austen Brassard (100 ECHL games), among others.

Garrett Bartus, whose pro career started in Greenville with the Road Warriors in 2013, and who is the record holder of the most saves in UConn history, along with Hobey Baker Award nominee Devin Buffalo out of Dartmouth College, will start the season as the goaltending duo for the Swamp Rabbits.

The regular season gets underway against the Toledo Walleye, a perennial powerhouse, for Opening Night tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the brand-new SwampRabbits.com.
