Rookie forward comes back to Upstate with first pro goals; made pro debut with Greenville on 11/8

(GREENVILLE, S.C.) – The Greenville Swamp Rabbits, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, announced via a Swamp Rabbits Moving Transaction that rookie forward Kaleb Lawrence has been assigned to the Swamp Rabbits from the AHL’s Ontario Reign by the Kings.

Lawrence returns to the Upstate after appearing in his first action with the Ontario Reign in the AHL. The 6’6”, 220-pound forward made his AHL debut on November 13th against the Tucson Roadrunners, and two nights later, he potted his first professional goal against the Colorado Eagles in a 5-3 win. Lawrence factored in seven games for the Reign, earning three goals, four points, and a +2 rating.

Under contract with the Kings, Lawrence made his professional debut with the Swamp Rabbits on November 8th and earned his first professional point with an assist. He’s appeared in three games for Greenville, earning as many helpers as possible in the brief timeframe. From Ottawa, Ontario, Lawrence signed an NHL entry-level contract with the Kings this offseason after five campaigns in the OHL, playing four seasons with the Owen Sound Attack before his final year with the Ottawa 67’s and London Knights last season. In 149 career games, Lawrence earned 82 points, evenly split with 41 goals and assists, and helped the Knights win the 2024 OHL Championship and finish as runner-up for the Memorial Cup. The Swamp Rabbits will battle the Jacksonville Icemen in a one-off showdown tonight, with puck drop at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena slated for 7:00 p.m. EST.
